xeira is a Professor of Mathematics at Universidade Federal do Ceara, Brazil. He obtained his Ph.D. at University of Texas at Austin, under Caffarelli (2005). Subsequently he served as a Hill assistant professor at Rutgers University  (2005-2008). His research interests include free boundary problems and regularity theory for nonlinear PDE. Up to date he has written more than fifty articles, books and lecture notes, has advised six Ph.D. and four postdoctorate students. Within his list of honors and distinctions are the 2013 Mathematical Congress of the Americas prize and the election as permanent fellow of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He is also the Chair of the 2018 ICM Parallel Activities and Satellite Events Committee.
